Neighbourhood Chaplains

Our church is linked to the Neighbourhood Chaplains scheme from the Christian charity Counties.

This is a community visiting initiative that connects, befriends and serves the church’s local community. It operates during the day reaching out to people where they live in their local communities through gentle neighbourly visiting.

There are three roles for volunteers:
Connecting – visiting and making new community contacts
Befriending – getting alongside the lonely
Serving – doing odd jobs

Our volunteers learn about listening skills, pastoral care, safe practice and biblical principles, and have had an enhanced DBS check for safeguarding purposes.
