As a church we are taking note of the UK Government and other advice on how to respond to the challenge presented by the spread of the Coronavirus and its potential to have serious impact on the health of some in our communities, including the elderly and vulnerable. The situation has been discussed within our church leadership and continues to be reviewed.
In line with this advice, we have suspended all our normal gatherings. This includes our Sunday service, midweek groups and youth and children’s activities. We are offering substitute activities including online worship, prayer and teaching through our Worshipping together – Apart! page, and we urge everyone to keep social contact through the telephone and social media.
Here’s an update video from Ian and Pete posted on Thursday 26th March
Each Sunday we are compiling resources to help us have a shared act of worship, prayer and teaching, even when we have to be apart. You can access this resources at out Worshipping together – Apart! page.
Our previous announcement concerning holding services in the Open Air has been ruled out by the increased restrictions introduced from 23rd March. However, instead we are going to try holding regular video conferences over Zoom. All regular attenders should have received details of how to join this; if you haven’t, please contact the Operations Manager.
There are previous update videos that you can still access, but these contain information that was correct at the time, but have been overtaken by new decisions and directions by UK Government to control the spread of this virus:
We want to support our regular church congregation and the wider community during this difficult time. If you live in and around Leighton Buzzard and want to contact us, ring Ian Watson, the Operations Manager, on 07785 593443 or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
